What Surprise and Sun City homes run into.

Most of Surprise was built from 1996 on, in communities like Sun City Grand, Arizona Traditions, Marley Park, Surprise Farms and Asante. Many newer Valley homes sit on post-tension slabs with steel cables in the concrete, so a slab leak should be pinpointed before anyone cuts the floor. Sometimes the cleaner fix is a new line run through the attic or walls.

Older homes in Sun City and Sun City West.

Sun City was built from 1960 to 1978, and its older homes can still have galvanized supply pipe or cast iron drains that rust and narrow inside. Sun City West (1978 to 1997) and the older parts of Coyote Lakes in Surprise were built during the polybutylene era, the late 1970s to the mid-1990s.
